What Is A Growth Mindset?

A growth mindset is the idea that intelligence can be develop, whereas a fixed mindset is the idea that intelligence is fixed at birth and nothing can be done about it.

The important distinction is in how students approach the challenges of learning. Do they want to just look smart or be resilient, ask questions and know that it is okay to not know something.

A growth mindset teaches children and students to challenge themselves in regard to learning. Not just to memorize or learn basic facts and figures. Ask questions, know that mistakes are part of the process, challenges help you grow and learning takes time; these are part of the growth mindset qualities students can learn today to be their best selves throughout life.
